On friday evening I went to the Riverside Festival. On the boulevard in front of the Renecance Center was a four day during festival which ended with great fireworks. On the first day WAR gave a concert. The '70s band played a very funky set. The mix of the cultural differences of the spectators made this evening to a real happening.
On Saturday morning was Eastern Market. An weekly event where all kind of fresh vetegables and flowers from local farmers are sold. The fresh products from Detroit are sold under the name Grown in Detroit. It's the newest city branding. Back to the local culture and slow food. Forget about the Wendys and Mc Donalds.
